Illuminated shop signs: how to choose the right one

How to choose the right illuminated sign for your shop: size, light colour, placement and materials. A practical guide from EPOXIUM ART STUDIO.

Illuminated shop signs: how to choose the right one

An illuminated sign is often the first thing a customer sees in your shop. Getting the size, colour and placement right is the difference between a logo nobody notices and one people remember.

1. Start with the location

Before thinking about size, decide where the sign will go:

  • Shop window: catches the eye of people walking past.
  • Behind the counter: shows up in photos and reinforces the brand with every sale.
  • Main wall: becomes the focal point of the shop.

Our signs work indoors and outdoors, and there's a battery option for spots without a socket nearby.

2. Choose the size by viewing distance

The further away people will see the sign from, the bigger it should be:

  • 60 cm: behind the counter or on small walls.
  • 80 cm: the most versatile size for most shops.
  • 100 cm: shop windows, large walls and open spaces.

We also make other sizes on request. There's more detail in our guide to the right size for an LED sign.

3. Choose the light colour

The LED colour should match your brand and the space. Warm white feels welcoming, ice blue feels modern, and bolder colours stand out more in a window. We have a range of colours and every sign comes with a remote control.

4. Make sure the logo stays true

Ideally, send your logo as a vector file (SVG, AI, EPS or PDF). If you don't have one, send what you have: we prepare and vectorise the design before production.

5. Materials that make the difference

Our signs use CNC-cut 10 mm rigid PVC, high-definition print, mirror-effect crystal epoxy resin and LED Neon Flex all around the edge. Even switched off, the sign keeps its shine and depth.
